Final Project

When I first started taking this class in the middle of my sophomore year I didn’t know what to expect. At first it was really weird acting and doing weird things in front of people i didn’t know, but I knew I was outgoing creative and funny so eventually it will work out. I never would have thought that their were so many different ways to act ONE SCENE, a scene can be completely different based on a smile or a frown.  I progressed drastically as the course went on lol I never liked these blogs post I use to not do them at all but then I realized how much it effected my grade. After my final Project skit last year I knew it was something I would want to do again. The following year I took this class again and this time we had A LOT of more students. I brought my talents and ideas to a group full of passionate students and directors with acting/dancing/singing backgrounds I learned how to work on staging this year it really brought my acting skills to the next level... I enjoyed t...

Play review

I really enjoyed the play my classmates did a great job performing . The play was kind of confusing at first I didn’t really understand what was going on but as I started to watch more I understood that the two characters were pretending to be a guy they weren’t to get a girl, which is my type of play. The actors did a good job projecting their voice in the black box and blocking. You can tell the first male actor that came out on stage was one of the main characters just by the way he carried himself with such enthusiasm. He did a good job with putting in jokes to make the audience laugh, and did a good job with expressing his emotion and blocking. The lighting crew ha a hard job as they had to focus the spotlight on the actors who moved a lot , but as the spotlight hit the audience knew which character to focus on. The set up of the play had me confused... I didn’t really know where the play took place but other than that I think the play was very good and a success

Directing a scene

1. The scene I will be directing is a scene from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air where Carlton Ashley and Hilary accuse Will of doing something wrong. 2. 4 actors 2 boys including me and 2 girls 3. In the scene Will cries, but there are many was I can change the script through emotion 4.  Fits the acting count in the black box we can set up a kitchen area which would be easy https://youtu.be/gN2oxmFPEg8

City of Stars

To make the city of stars more unique I would add lightning to the scene , and have my walk the streets of New York with rain boots an umbrella waiting for the bus after a long day of work in the theater

Directing

In the first video they really just talk about what is important in a play and why you chose this play. The characters perspective on things are important to the context and they talk about leadership and the time period of the play The second one talk about how the audience can connect with the play through constumes music etc. The third one is in old times, but they make it seems like the play would take place now , and what’s their intention on writing the play.

Blog Post -in/class writing

:My part of the project I felt I did a very good job picking up the role of Paul. I did a good job with adding in mood conversations with my sister Jess. Basing our conversations off of how we felt about my friend Charlie calling the house phone over and over. : Our group scene as a whole was very good,  we did a good job going kind of off scrip with some of our responses. Our director did a great job with Ques and lighting. In the beginning we had a hard time figuring out the lighting, and how we were going to be able to hide Paul out of the scene, but we met as a whole cast and came together on a decision. :@CADramaticArts2018Pacifica- Your group did a good job with setting the mood of the songalogue. I could tell that it was a rainy day due to the sounds of rain, and Brooklyn holding her umbrella. The main actor in the songalogue could have slowed down a little bit just so people can follow more. The spotlight was a great idea because we were able to see the main actor very...

Monologue with lighting and Staging

If I had to choose a monologue or songalogue to set up with good staging and elements of acting I would use is Jeff's songalogue when he used Bruno Mars I was your man. I would have done it differently than what Jeff did. Instead of my character looking out the window I would have had a bed as a prop and start off depressed in bed and kind of talk to myself in the mirror. Once I talk about how I should have danced with her, I would have done a dance that we always shared and have roses next to my bed set so when I say "I should have brought you flowers" reminisce about old times while softly touching the flower pedals. The role would have been played in many different emotions. You can do a lot with this skit and add a lot of different emotions by going from sad, once he starts to realize what he's lost , after being sad you can become mad at yourself for regretting dancing with her, holding her hand , or not buying her flowers. Costumes can be different kind of anythi...
