Final Project
When I first started taking this class in the middle of my sophomore year I didn’t know what to expect. At first it was really weird acting and doing weird things in front of people i didn’t know, but I knew I was outgoing creative and funny so eventually it will work out. I never would have thought that their were so many different ways to act ONE SCENE, a scene can be completely different based on a smile or a frown. I progressed drastically as the course went on lol I never liked these blogs post I use to not do them at all but then I realized how much it effected my grade. After my final Project skit last year I knew it was something I would want to do again. The following year I took this class again and this time we had A LOT of more students. I brought my talents and ideas to a group full of passionate students and directors with acting/dancing/singing backgrounds I learned how to work on staging this year it really brought my acting skills to the next level... I enjoyed this class and I don’t feel like saying goodbye :(But for my final project I took my “talents” to the court and did a basketball scene for my last skit of the year. The plot of the story was pretty simple this kid Jordan Robinson growing up in the hard streets found a way out through basketball.. he worked hard to become a 3 time gaterade player of the year attended Baylor university and was projected high in the draft. When he touched the court it seemed like this guy lost all of his skills. He missed shot after shot free throw after free throw missed dunk after dunk until the last one! But me also being the director I feel like I could have done a better job with editing . It was my first time ever editing a movie so it struggled with making some things clear , and I didn’t get to add everything I wanted to. I could have done a better job with my script and maybe get more people involved in my film. I did a good job with actually performing the movie in my opinion. I played basketball when I was younger so the dialogue in the beginning is kind of true until I started to play football. So I definitely did a good job with expressing true emotion. I chose this crazy skit because I knew it would challenge me to write a script which I haven’t done being in the class so far. I wanted to see how I would do on the director side.
